Maintenance Advice
Now you are a proud owner of one of our static Holiday Homes you can really start to enjoy your home away from away and reap the benefits of being a Holiday Home Owner. Of course, being a proud new Owner, you will want to make sure your Holiday Home is kept in pristine condition.
During the warmer summer months a little maintenance of your Holiday Home is required, perhaps a good clean of the outside of the caravan to remove and prevent any algae build up or a little strimming, then you can sit back, relax and enjoying your Holiday Home.
During the colder winter months or long periods of time when you will not be regularly visiting your Holiday Home there are a few tips we would like to give you to ensure your caravan is protected from the elements. If you follow these tips it will allow you to return to your Holiday Home just the way you left it.
Do not leave any valuables at your Holiday Home whilst it is unattended for long periods of time – TV, DVD Player, Games Consoles or Tablets etc.
Remove all net curtains, bedding, pillows and roller blinds.
Make sure all seat cushions and mattresses are on their side in order to let the air properly circulate and to prevent mildew from forming.
Leave all internal doors, including cupboards, open to best help the air circulate.
Empty and clean out your fridge freezer, oven and hob. Leave the doors to these appliances open.
Ensure any electric items are unplugged.
Make sure all air vents are clear but screened over to prevent any vermin getting into your holiday home.
Close all windows and skylights.
Items that are usually stored outside your holiday home, such as bikes and garden furniture, should be stored away securely.
Place dishes of household salt in every room of your holiday home to draw any excess moisture out of the air, further helping to prevent the growth of mildew.
Turn off all electronics including the circuit breaker.
Turn off gas bottles and mains water supply.
Make sure you leave an emergency contact number at the park office should we need to contact you, as well as a spare key.
The most important thing to do in winter is to drain down your caravan.
Following these simple tips is a sure way to ensure your holiday home is kept in great condition for you and your family to enjoy for many years to come.
